The Beginnings
Our Story
Pastor Trevor Horgan’s journey into ministry began in the early 1990s when he studied at Rhema Bible Training Centre in Randburg. After serving as a youth pastor, he felt a strong calling to step beyond the walls of a church. With little more than R100, canned food, and an F-250 Ford bakkie, he travelled across Southern Africa – preaching the Gospel in streets, towns, and communities from Cape Town and the West Coast all the way into Namibia and Zambia. During this season, he helped establish a Bible school in Zambia and planted a church in Ceres, where he served for several years.
In 2003, he married Pastor Rhodé Horgan, and together they were blessed with two daughters, Chanté and Gabriella. While running a transport business, their hearts for ministry never faded, and they remained actively involved in serving and leading wherever God opened doors.
It was during COVID-19 that the calling became impossible to ignore. What started as a small home fellowship grew into His Heart Ministries – journeying through homes, drive-in services, tents, and finally a building. Today, His Heart Ministries is a growing church family based in Joostenbergvlakte, now entering its fifth year. Led by Pastor Trevor and Rhodé, the church is rooted in genuine worship and biblical truth, with a passion to see people find God, find freedom, find themselves, discover their purpose, and walk out their faith together.
Our Mission
Our mission is to create a safe and free environment where people can Find God, Find Freedom, Find Yourself, and Find Purpose. We are passionate about teaching the Word of God and creating a space to experience Him physically, emotionally, mentally, and spiritually. Through this, we aim to equip and strengthen every person to walk boldly in their God-given calling (Joel 3:9).
Our Vision
We envision a church that is actively going, discipling, and sending people to impact the world around them (Matthew 28:19). We are building a culture of freedom where people are deeply loved, celebrated, and empowered to live led by the Spirit of God (2 Corinthians 3:17). Through Growth Track, Outreach, Interest Groups, Bible School, and thriving Kids and Youth Ministries, we are raising up people who know their purpose and can confidently step into it.
